A London-based creative agency dedicated to developing virtual reality (VR) marketing has launched this week. FIGURE Digital specialisies in making advertising campaigns using both VR and augmented reality (AR), with the help of technology like the Oculus Rift VR headset. It’s the first agency of its kind in the United Kingdom.
The company has already worked with a number of clients, including a VR campaign with Tesco’s that can be seen above. Users can take a virtual tour of a Tesco supermarket before stepping out into a football stadium. The demo features a realistic storefront with shelves lined with real products as in any standard Tesco’s outlet. Users can look around the setting as they’re guided through using the Oculus Rift’s head-tracking. The project was revealed in October 2013 as part of a program to create new marketing initiatives to ‘engage shoppers’.
“We plan to create virtual experiences for brands that advertisers could only have dreamed about only a few years ago,” Ben Paterson, FIGURE Digital founder and managing director, said in a statement.
“We can now create 360-degree cinematic experiences and gamified interactive solutions that allow consumers to totally immerse themselves into a brand’s message.”
VRFocus will be bringing more coverage of FIGURE Digital in the near future, including an interview with the Joseph Kletz, the company’s Creative Director.
