Live For Speed Gets Oculus Rift Support, Hits Oculus Share Beta

Hardcore racing simulation Live For Speed has added support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset. Developers Scawen Roberts, Eric Bailey and Victor van Vlaardingen have also released their title onto the official Oculus VR Share beta, where it can be downloaded and played for free. Users that want more out of the experience can purchase an in-title license to unlock all features.

LiveForSpeed_1Live For Speed comes with both single player and online racers, where players sit in the cockpit of a vehicle and have control over every element of driving the car. The developers recommend using a steering wheel peripheral for the title. Players can use the Oculus Rift’s head-tracking to look around the car and across the track as they drive.

The version released onto the Oculus VR Share Beta is the latest update to the title, dubbed Live For Speed S2. It features dynamic camber, detailed tyre physics and damage modeling. It’s currently only available for download on Windows, with no word on possible Mac or Linux version. It can be played either with a keyboard and mouse or gamepad. VRFocus will continue to follow the release of VR-compatible products and bring them to you.
