Panocam3d Releases Real Life 360 Degree VR Videos

Panocam3d has released a new selection of 360 degree videos to support its ongoing IndieGoGo campaign to produce the device. The videos are all taken using the camera, which shoots footage from every angle in 4K and 3D. The device is hoping to raise $25,000 USD to fund production. At the time of writing it has made just over $19,300. Videos can be viewed with the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset.

Panocam3d_1There are a range of new videos posted onto the gadget’s official site, which must be viewed in the VRplayer software. A total of 4 of the clips are taken with the camera staying still. These take footage from a skate park, amusement ground, and two rural areas, one set in Roussillon, France.

There are also two other videos in which the camera moves. The first is taken on a rollercoaster while the other is set on top of a go-kart. Both videos were shot on a tripod that was hand-held, and the company stressted that they were purely experimental.

Should Pancocam3d’s campaign prove successful then it should be shipping at the end of May for those that backed the project. VRFocus will continue to follow any and all VR-based technology and report back with the latest.
