Proscenium’s Spectre Passes Kickstarter Campaign

This weekend saw the completion of the Kickstarter campaign for the upcoming virtual reality (VR) multiplayer horror title, Spectre. Developer Proscenium’s goal of $15,000 was reached on 29th March 2014 and has since gone on to reach a reduced $16,000 stretch goal, which adds a new map and abilities for both the ghost-hunting human players to use as well as the player-controlled Spectre. The title supports VR with use of the Oculus Rift VR headset.

Spectre_1“We’re ecstatic to announce that as of today, Spectre has reached its goal of $15,000!” the developer wrote on its campaign blog. “THANK YOU for all of your support getting us to this point. We couldn’t have made it this far without you!

“But it’s not over yet! Spectre still has 3 days left in its campaign, and we have a few surprises up our sleeves.”

One such surprise includes offering the $36 Hall of Horrors reward to everyone that backed enough money to receive the title. The campaign now hopes to hit another reduced stretch goal of $19,000 to create a new single-player mode. Spectre‘s main focus is on multiplayer, in which three human players try to trap a monster known as the Spectre, another human-controlled force that can set its own traps for its pursuers.

Proscenium hopes to ship Spectre in July 2014. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s development and report back with all the latest.
