City-roaming action title Spiculus has been released onto the Oculus VR Share Beta. Made by indie developer Takayuki Fujiwara, this experience sees players travel across an urban environment using spider webs to pull themselves along. The goal is to collect points by hitting blue or red orbs with corresponding colours of web. It is compatible with the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset.
Players are set against the clock to score as many points as possible in a time limit. The Oculus Rift’s head tracking technology is used to quickly navigate the environment. The title is a free download via Oculus VR’s official portal. It was developed using the Unity engine and is compatible on both PC and Mac.
While Spiculus is only a simple free download, it could worthwhile for superhero fans looking to get their first taste of how the hero genre might work on the Oculus Rift. VRFocus will continue to report on any new titles that hit the Oculus VR Share Beta and report back.
