Grave Ends Successful Kickstarter Campaign

Broken Window Studios’ Kickstarter campaign for upcoming survival horror experience Grave has ended in success. The developers managed to raise $37,622 USD for the virtual reality (VR) compatible title, which had been hoping to raise $30,000 from the start. This means that the title will come to PC, Mac and Linux with Oculus Rift support as well as Microsoft’s Xbox One, though it didn’t quite reach its $40,000 stretch goal for a PlayStation 4 edition.

The developer has posted an update to backers, thanking them for their contributions. A total of 1,111 people pledged towards the project. Grave is first-person experience in which players explore a rural landscape by day and defend their homes from monsters by night. Players use light-based weapons to fend off enemies, utilising torches, matches and more to either keep them at bay or completely destroy them.

Grave is now heading towards a January 2015 release. The title is still running a Steam Greenlight campaign, although it hopes to be approved for sale soon. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s progress leading up to launch and beyond.

  1. So you developing a VR based Horror game and you put XBONE before PS4 in the stretch goals?

These guys sound dumb. For one MS hasn’t even announced a VR add-on. Their install base is smaller too.
