Kickstarter + Greenlight Launched for C.R.E.E.P.S, VR Stretch Goal Included

Indie developer Brink 3D has launched both Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight campaigns for its upcoming first-person shooter (FPS), C.R.E.E.P.S. The former is hoping to raise $50,000 CAD to fund development of the title. It also includes a stretch goal of $200,000 to include support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset as well as a Linux version of the PC and Mac-bound experience.

creeps_1C.R.E.E.P.S is a tactical FPS in which an inter-dimensional portal named the Hellgate activates in Calgary, Canada, throwing all of North America into darkness. Players control Sgt. Jake Muldoon and his band of elite military soliders, named C.R.E.E.P.S as they head towards the gate in order to shut it down and restore power.

The title’s monstrous enemies thrive in darkness, meaning players must seek out light sources to use to defend themselves. Players can issue real-time commands and customise loadouts to face certain types of enemies. They can also be kidnapped by enemies, meaning others must save them. Multiplayer is also restricted to stretch goals, with $500,000 unlocking co-op and $1,000,000 securing competitive modes.

Those interested in C.R.E.E.P.S can pledge $19 to secure a digital copy of the title, which is expected to launch in February 2015 on PC. Rewards go all the way up to $1,500, where 10 backers can design a hero or enemy to feature in the title. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s development and report back with the latest.
