CCP Games has confirmed that actress Katee Sachoff has been cast in its upcoming space combat experience, EVE: Valkyrie. The developer made the announcement during its keynote presentation for the title at this week’s EVE Fanfest event in Reykjavik, Iceland in which it spoke about the upcoming virtual reality (VR) exclusive title, set to launch of PlayStation 4 and PC with Project Morpheus and Oculus Rift headset support respectively.
Sackhoff is best known for her work as Captain Kara Thrace in the Battlestar Galactica TV show. She’s set to play a characer named ‘Ran’, the leader of the Valkyrie fighter pilots that fans of CCP Games’ hugely popular massively multiplayer online (MMO) title EVE Online will already be familiar with. Her character will speak with players as they sit in the cockpit of their Valkyrie fight during missions. A picutre of the character taken from the event can be seen below.
“The first time I played EVE: Valkyrie I immediately knew I had to be a part of it,” said Sackhoff. “Even with the roles I have played, it is the closest I have ever felt to being a real spaceship pilot. It is a truly transformative video game experience.”
EVE: Valkyrie is a space combat title in which players command a Valkyrie fighter in dog fights. Players can use the head-tracking technology with both the Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus headset.
VRFocus will have plenty more from EVE: Valkyrie during the course of EVE Fanfest, including a preview of the latest build of the title and more.
