EVE: Valkyrie Moving to Unreal Engine 4

CCP Games has confirmed that its upcoming virtual reality (VR) exclusive title EVE: Valkyrie has switched development to Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4. The new engine will allow the developer to push the upcoming space combat title even further and still features native support for both the Oculus Rift PC headset and Project Morpheus PlayStation 4 headset, where the title is set to launch.


EVE: Valkyrie is an upcoming space combat title that sits players inside the cockpit of a Valkyrie fighter. The title is set to feature both single player and multiplayer battles that utilise both headset’s head-tracking capabilities for locking on missiles and more. VRFocus has seen the title in action several times running on both devices and remains consistently impressed with it.

It’s not the first videogame to recently switch over to Unreal Engine 4. White Lotus Interactive’s XING: The Land Beyond has also made the transition to Epic Game’s latest engine. Support for PlayStation 4 and Project Morpheus was added to the engine as recently as last week in a new update that also brought support to the Xbox One among other new additions.
