Urban Logic Games has released its first teaser trailer for its upcoming virtual reality (VR) compatible first-person real-time strategy (RTS) videogame, Flagship. The footage, seen below, reveals over 2 minutes of gameplay for the title, which is set to launch on PC, Mac and Linux with full native support for the Oculus Rift VR headset. The developer hopes to launch the title some time in 2015.
Flagship casts players as the commander of a fleet of space craft that issues orders to units in first-person using an interactive map. It is a single player experience in which players expand their territory by exploring the galaxy and defeating enemies. Ships gain experience as they continue to fight. The end of the teaser trailer hints at enemies that posses far more advanced weaponry than your own.
Urban Logic Games cites titles such as Homeworld and Total Annihilation as influences on the project. It originally started life as a mobile videogame but has since been restarted for PC platforms. It is being developed using the Unity 3D engine. The team hopes to launch an Early Access version of the title towards the end of its development cycle. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s progress and report back with any more updates.
