Oculus Founder, Morpheus Creator & More Confirmed for SVVR Conference & Expo

The upcoming Silicon Valley Virtual Reality (SVVR) Conference & Expo has added a host of new panelists to its line-up. The event, which takes place on 19th & 20th May 2014 will feature appearances from Oculus VR founder and Oculus Rift headser creator Palmer Luckey as well as Richard Marks, Senior Director at Sony Computer Entertainment’s (SCE) Magic Lab, responsible for the Project Morpheus headset on PlayStation 4.

Instead, Luckey will speak on a panel titled ‘Forecasting VR’s Adoption Over the Next 5 Years’ along with Jaunt VR CEO Jens Christensen, Sixense CEO Amir Rubin and Formation 8’s Drew Oetting. The panel will dicuss how fast VR will take off with consumers and topics such as early killer applications. The panel starts at 11:00 PDT on 19th May.

Following on at 15:00 on the same day is Marks’ panel on ‘User Input and Locomotion in VR’ with Virtuix CEO Jan Goetgeluk, UC Davis’ Olvier Kreylos, Survios CEO Nathan Burba, and Leap Motion CTO and Co-founder David Holz. The panel is set to talk about movements in VR, control input, and seated experiences against standing ones.

Other recently added panelists for the event, which is set to take place at the Computer History Museum, include GameFace Labs’ Ed Mason, TECHNOLUST creator Blair Renaud and Lunar Flight developer Sean Edwards. VRFocus will be at the event to bring you all the latest news.
