Spectre Launches Multiplayer Beta

Indie developer Proscenium has released the multiplayer beta for its online horror title, Spectre. Those that pledged $26 USD or more to the videogame’s successful Kickstarter campaign can now download the beta, with links being sent out yesterday. It’s still possible for others to get into the beta by ordering it on title’s Online Store. Spectre supports virtual reality (VR) through use of the Oculus Rift VR headset.

Those that take part in the beta will have the chance to provide the developers with feedback for the full release. The team has set up a new forum for the community to meet up and talk to them as well as set up matches. Other Kickstarter rewards, such as the opportunity to appear in the title, are also available through the title’s online store.

Spectre is an online horror title in which 3 human players try and hunt down a player-controlled monster that can lay traps and tricks for them.  The title was looking to raise $15,000 on Kickstarter and ended up raising over $18,000.

It’s Kickstarter campaign may have been passed but Spectre is still looking to gain approval on Steam Greenlight. The team revealed that it is ‘getting close’ to passing that goal, but still asks for community support with positive votes. Should it achieve this goal then the PC title would launch on Steam in summer 2014. VRFocus will continue to follow Spectre and report back with all the latest updates.
