TECHNOLUST Adds STEM Motion Controls & Teases Visual Upgrade

Indie developer Iris VR has passed another Kickstarter stretch goal for its upcoming virtual reality (VR) exclusive project, TECHNOLUST. The funding campaign recently passed a $40,000 CAD goal, meaning the cyberpunk PC title will now feature support for the recently-delayed Sixense STEM motion controller. Further stretch goals have also been added, teasing photo scanned NPCs for $60,000.

The new photo scanning option replaces an old stretch goal for multiplayer support. Developer Blair Renaud noted in a Kickstarter blog update that this move would ‘reflect a keener scope for the project’. He also supplied a few images of himself, which can be seen below. They head shots provide a clear look at a near photo realistic head model, which Renaud stressed were indeed 3D models to be used in the title.

At the time of writing TECHNOLUST has raised $41,245 on Kickstarter, placing it well past its initial $30,000 goal. The title already passed a $35,000 goal to add an original score and is now working its way towards a $50,000 goal to add a wastelands area into the experience. The campaign is due to end in the early hours of 11th May 2014. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s development and report back with any more details.
