Around 50 VR Titles on Android Already – Durovis Dive Creator

The focus of virtual reality (VR) right now is undoubtedly on the PC market thanks to the popularity of the Oculus Rift VR headset, but the technology also has a presence on mobile platforms. Smartphone-based headsets such as the Durovis Dive are gradually increasing their own libraries of VR videogames on the Android platform. In fact, Dive creator Stefan Welker recently revealed to VRFocus that the platform is approaching 50 compatible videogames.

“We’ve got about 50 games on Android already and that’s quite amazing,” Welker told VRFocus in an interview that will be published later this week. “So it’s steadily getting better.”

Dive compatible videogames can be found by accessing the Dive Launcher app on Android. From there players can access a total of 35 different videogames as well as a number of videos. Titles include original content such as Dive City Coaster to even high profile ports such as first-person horror experience Slender VR. These apps can then be downloaded as per usual on the Google Play Store and played using the headset.

It’s certainly surprising to see this many VR experiences on Android already. Of course, the arrival of the GameFace wireless Android headset in the future will help boost the amount of titles on the platform even further. And with Samsung rumored to be preparing its own Android-based VR headset, the technology certainly seems to have a bright future ahead of it with the technology. VRFocus will continue to follow any and all forms of VR, bringing you the latest.
