Indie developer Wales Interactive has announced that its upcoming virtual reality (VR) compatible title Infinity Runner has been delayed by approximately one month. Originally planned to launch on 2nd June 2014 the Oculus Rift compatible experience is now looking to release at the start of July. Despite the news, the developer has insisted that the title is ‘complete’ and will be receiving ‘extra polish’ leading up to release.
The developer cited the imintent release of two new Wii U titles this month as reason for the delay. Infinity Runner is an upcoming PC, Mac and Linux free-running title in which players are cast as a prisoner on the largest spaceship built by man, named The Infinity. Players are set free at the start of the experience and must escape using Mirror’s Edge-style free-running mechanics and mixed martial arts combat.
While the title is launching next month on PC it also hopes to reach PlayStation 4 with support for the Project Morpheus VR headset down the line. A specific date for Infinity Runner‘s launch has not yet been mentioned, though VRFocus will continue to follow the title and bring you an update as soon as it’s available.
