Jack Tretton: VR ‘A Force to Be Reckoned With’

Former Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) CEO Jack Tretton has labelled virtual reality (VR) technology as ‘a force to be reckoned with’ in the near future. Tretton reasoned that he had seen some VR tech from companies that the public currently didn’t even know about, and that the industry was set to grow.

“I think VR is going to be a force to be recoked with in the near future,” Tretton told Geoff Keighley during Spike’s E3 All-Access coverage at E3 2014 today.

SCE is ccurrently developing its own VR headset for the PlayStation 4 named Project Morpheus. The company revealed the device at the 2014 Game Developers Conference in March 2014. It is expected to be revealed in more detail further on today at SCE’s own E3 press conference. VRFocus will continue to follow Project Morpheus’ development and report back with all the latest.

  1. Jack Tretton doesn’t know what he’s talking about. If the headset costs like their other headsets, then it’s DOA! This will be niche at best.
