Sony Reveal New Project Morpheus Demo

Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) has revealed a new demo for its Project Morpheus virtual reality (VR) headset on PlayStation 4. PlayStation Magic Labs’ Richard Marks revealed the new title, which has been developed by SCE London Studio, the company behind The Deep demo that was revealed with the headset itself.

SCE London’s new demo was revealed on Spike’s All Access E3 coverage. The demo has players sit on a luge, a small one-man sled, and travel downhill on a road at fast speeds. Players use the Project Morpheus’ head tracking technology to dodge oncoming-traffic as they speed down the hill, gathering pace as they go.

Marks confirmed that this was just another demo for Project Morpheus, meaning it may not take the form of a full title. SCE London has itself said that it is experimenting with Project Morpheus right now to find out what works and what doesn’t. Will these demos release for consumers?

Project Morpheus was revealed a the 2014 Game Developers Conference (GDC) in March 2014. The company has revealed few release details for the headset, although has confirmed titles such as EVE: Valkyrie, Among the Sleep and more will be heading to it. We’re hoping to see more from Project Morpheus at SCE’s E3 press conference later on today. VRFocus will continue to follow Project Morpheus’ progress, bringing you all the latest.
