SUPERHOT Featuring at Oculus VR’s E3 Booth

SUPERHOT looks like it is set to become a major showcase for virtual reality (VR) technology and the Oculus Rift headset in the coming months. The developers behind the title have seen huge success with its Kickstarter campaign, recently doubling its initial funding goal of $100,000 USD with a number of days left on its clock. Now the first-person shooter (FPS) will feature heavily at Oculus VR’s booth at E3 2014.

Oculus VR founder and Oculus Rift designer Palmer Luckey confirmed as much to VRFocus today. The title will be playable at the company’s booth. It had been seen earlier as a showcase for the Oculus Rift on Spike’s All Access E3 coverage, where Luckey confirmed that the upcoming consumer version of the device will boast a higher resolution display than the upcoming second developer kit (DK2).

SUPERHOT is a puzzle-based FPS in which time freezes when players stand still. This allows them to navigate areas, dodging bullets before finding a weapon and eliminating the enemy. It boasts a clean, minimalist art style. Oculus Rift support allows players to duck and weave between bullets using the positional tracking featured in DK2.

SUPERHOT is planning to release in June 2015 on PC. Oculus VR is also set to debut a brand new videogame at E3 2014, named Lucky’s Tale. VRFocus will continue to follow any and all VR titles, bringing you the latest.
