Get Even Dev Talks Weapons and Shooting in Making Of Video

Get Even is a first-person shooter (FPS) that wants to separate itself from the pack. At least, that’s what developer The Farm 51 tries to drive home in a new ‘Making Of’ video. The clip, seen below, focuses on the upcoming title’s weapons, specifically talking about what we can expect from the weapons, and how it won’t simply try and keep up with fast-paced action experiences.

A range of developers are on-hand to discuss Get Even‘s ‘realistic combat’. The video, which lasts just over 3 minutes, contains a look at some in-game guns, as well as showing the team on a trip to a shooting range in order to accurately capture the feel of each firearm. The developer has suggested that the title will be much closer to the survival horror genre than it will the FPS, with limited ammo and resources forcing players to contain themselves.

Also seen in the video is a brief glimpse of one developer using the Oculus Rift VR headset’s first development kit (DK1). No doubt the team will be eager to get their hands on the second development kit (DK2) when it ships later this month, with its improved 1080p OLED display and positional tracking.

Get Even passed a Steam Greenlight campaign for sale on Valve’s digital PC store in April 2014, and is also planning to come to PlayStation 4 with support for the Project Morpheus VR headset. The title’s campaign is looking to blur the lines between single and multiplayer with players being able to invade each other’s playthroughs and attack. It’s hoping to release in 2015. VRFocus will continue to follow Get Even‘s progress, bringing you all the latest on its development.
