Space Hulk: Deathwing Confirmed for VR

Streumon Studio’s upcoming first-person shooter Space Hulk: Deathwing has been closely linked to virtual reality (VR) in the past. The title debuted with an Oculus Rift VR headset demo earlier in 2014. Since then the title has been confirmed for a release on consoles, including the PlayStation 4, but hasn’t actually assured that the full release will have support for VR headsets. However an email for Gamescom 2014 bookings for the title appears to have done just that.

Publisher Focus Home Interactive suggested as much in an email sent out to the press. In a description for the title, it noted that “Developer Streumon will also be able to share its thoughts on VR and how this will be used within Deathwing.”

This certainly seems to confirm that VR support will indeed make it into the title. While Oculus Rift support is highly likely on PC, will we see Space Hulk: Deathwing also include support for the Project Morpheus VR headset on PlayStation 4? It’s not clear at this time, given the email’s vague reference to VR, but perhaps we’ll be able to get confirmation at Gamescom when it takes place on 13th – 17th August 2014.

VRFocus will continue to follow Space Hulk: Deathwing and will be at Gamescom to bring you all the latest on VR.
