Caffeine Gets New Unreal Engine 4 Screenshots

Indie developed sci-fi horror title Caffeine is now entering the last week of its IndieoGoGo crowd-funding campaign, hoping to raise $5000 USD to help development. At the time of writing the title, which will support the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) on PC, has raised over $1,300. Now new screenshots taken of the experience have arrived, showcasing Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4, which Caffeine is being built with.

A total of three new screenshots can be seen below, highlighting developer Incandescent Imaging’s work to make the first-person experience a visually stunning affair. Two of the images are set in the title’s darker, more atmospheric environments while the third also proves that the horror experience won’t stray away from the light for its entire running time, also highlighting the minute detail that the developer has gone to.

Caffeine is a first-person horror experience that casts players as a young child that awakens on board and abandoned caffeine mining facility. Players will explore their surroundings, solving puzzles and avoiding traps as they figure out what has become of the facilities staff. The title is also coming to PlayStation 4, with support for the Project Morpheus VR HMD also possible in the future.

VRFocus will continue to follow Caffeine going forward, reporting back with any further updates on its development.
