More The Deep Art Comes from Gamescom

Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) London Studio has produced one of the mainstay technical demonstrations for the Project Morpheus virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) on PlayStation. That demo is The Deep, a first-person experience that sees players diving to the depths of the ocean before coming under attack from a shark. Last month the first artwork for the title was revealed and now more has been supplied as part of Gamescom 2014 in Cologne, Germany.

Two new pieces of concept art for The Deep can be seen below. One serves as another showcase of the climatic shark attack scene from towards the end of the demo, with a submarine visible in the background. The other shows an image of the same drone which can be controlled via the companion app that was revealed for the demo at E3 2014. Three turtles can also be be seen in the second image.

Right now The Deep‘s future is unclear. Though it was first thought to be strictly a technical demonstration, SCE London Studio’s continued work on both it and the Street Luge minigame suggest that they might in fact be destined for more. VRFocus will continue to follow the progress of both projects moving forward, reporting back with all the latest updates as and when we have them.
