It’s quite possible that virtual reality (VR) fans have had their fix of horror experiences for some time to come thanks to the likes of the Oculus VR Share platform hosting a range of terrifying experiences. Those that still crave scares will want to keep an eye on Doorways: The Underworld from indie developer Saibot Studios, a first-person horror experience that features support for the Oculus Rift VR head-mounted display (HMD). Said title has recently been issued a release date.
Doorways: The Underworld will be launching on Steam for PC, Mac and Linux on 17th September 2014. It is the third chapter in the Doorways series, in which players are cast as Thomas Foster, an agent of the titular organisation with psychic abilities that hunts depraved criminals. Surrfering from memory loss, Foster in on the trail of his next target; The Surgeon. Players will explore terrifying environments in their journey, solving puzzles and survivng. The title features voice acting from the likes of Sam A. Mowry, who is best known for his work in celebrated horror classic Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Those interested can pre-order Doorways: The Underworld now with a 25 percent discount, set at £5.24 GBP. At launch it will be priced at £6.99.
