Elite: Dangerous Dev Session Scheduled for EGX London

It has already been announced that Frontier Developments’ upcoming virtual reality (VR) compatible space combat title Elite: Dangerous will be playable on the show floor at this year’s EGX in London on 25th – 28th September. However it’s recently been announced that the developer’s David Braben will also be hosting a Developer Session at the event. These sessions allow fans to get an in-depth look at a given videogame, usually with commentary by the title’s developers.

The session, titled ‘Death, Stealth, Money & Power in Elite: Dangerous‘ takes place on Thursday 25th September at 14:00 BST. Braben will be discussing a range of elements of the Elite: Dangerous experience including combat, piracy, bounty hunting, trading and exploring. The PC title, which is currently undergoing a premium beta, features full support for the Oculus Rift VR head-mounted display (HMD), though it’s unclear if this version will be playable at the event.

Elite: Dangerous is a space combat title in which players can explore huge areas of space, taking part in multiplayer battles and more. It is a continuation of the Elite series that Braben himself helped start back in 1984. As for EGX, the event takes place at Earls Court, with Oculus Rift creator Oculus VR also confirmed to have a stand at this year’s show among other VR experiences. VRFocus will continue to follow Elite: Dangerous going forward, reporting back with any further updates on its progress.
