FIGURE Digital to Speak on VR and Retail at Games Retail 2020

Next week sees Games Retail 2020 take place on 16th September 2014 at BAFTA in central London. The one-day conference is based around the future of selling and monetizing videogames, complete with presentations, panels and networking sessions based around the subject. Of course, a high profile virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) such as the Oculus Rift or Project Morpheus isn’t available for sale yet, but that isn’t stopping London-based VR marketing agency FIGURE Digital from hosting a talk on the technology’s potential impact.

FIGURE Digital’s Ben Paterson will be delivering a talk entitled ‘Virtual reality: What does it really mean for retail?’, kicking off at 12:10pm on the day. Paterson will touch about how VR can benefit retailers going forward, and the possiblity of recreating the retail experience in a virtual world. FIGURE Digital was established earlier in the year and has already worked with the likes of Tesco, making the company the idea host for this kind of topic.

VRFocus spoke to FIGURE Digital earlier in the year about both the company and VR’s future. Those interested can purchase a ticket to Games Retail 2020 via its official website. Other talks throughout the day will look at subjects such as the digital PC market, videogame merchandising and how retail might look by 2020. VRFocus will continue to follow any and all news in the VR industry, reporting back with any further updates.
