From Ashes Launches for Oculus Rift

This week sees the launch of a brand new experimental experience for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD). From Ashes from indie developer Steven Gray has launched on the official Oculus VR Share beta, where it can be downloaded for free on PC. The title features full support for both the Oculus Rift head-mounted display’s (HMD) first and second development kits (DK1 and DK2).

From Ashes is a first-person experience in which players will be taken on a tour through time and space. Players are tasked with simply watching key events such as the big bang unfold as the title takes a tour of the universe leading up to present day. Along the way they will have the choice to be accompanied by a strange figure that appears to have a TV monitor for a head and floats without legs. Players will witness everything while sat at a seemingly ordinary office desk.

It’s not clear if From Ashes might see an expansion or updated version in the future. VRFocus will continue to follow each and every VR experience, bringing you the latest updates on them.
