In September 2014 Oculus VR held its first ever Oculus Connect developer conference in Hollywood, California. The two day event proved to be a huge success as the company revealed its latest prototype for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) in Crescent Bay and hosted a number of keynote speeches from Oculus VR figureheads such as CEO Brendan Iribe and Chief Technology Officer John Carmack. There were also a number of developer sessions from other members of both Oculus VR and the VR development community. Those sessions can now be seen online.
While the keynote speeches have been available online for some time, Oculus VR is only just posting the developer sessions that followed now. A total of 12 presentations have been shared on the company’s official blog, each of which also come with the slides for the presentation in the given session. Given that these slides have been created by developers for developers, they could prove essential to many teams currently working on VR videogames and more.
Sessions include ‘Learning From Lucky’s Tale‘ with developer Playful Corp, ‘Getting Started With Gear VR’ with Oculus VR’s Max Cohen and ‘Integrating the Oculus Rift into Unreal Engine 4’ with Epic Games. Each video can be seen below, though make sure to head to Oculus VR’s official website for the accompany slides. VRFocus will continue to follow Oculus VR in the future, reporting back with any further updates from the company.
