World of Diving Gets Halloween-Themed Content

Indie developer Vertigo Games has supplied a steady stream of new content for the Early Access version of its virtual reality (VR) compatible diving title, World of Diving, since its launch. Updates have ranged from historic wrecks to some more imaginative levels, giving fans plenty to explore. Today the developer has released new content to celebrate Halloween, some of which will be available for a limited time only.

From today, Thursday 30th October 2014 and running all the way up to 4th November, fans can take part in two new Halloween-themed missions. Players will also be able to explore the diving base to discover jack-o’-lanterns. Once each one has been found skeleton-themed outfits will be unlocked. Completing one of the missions in the Bismarck level will also unlock a jack-o’-lantern Angler fish buddy to join players in other missions.

On top of all of that a Halloween mask has been released onto the World of Diving store. It will be available until 6th November, with the developer stating that it won’t be sold again until at least the next Halloween celebration. There’s plenty of new content for those in the Halloween mood, then.

World of Diving is a first-person experience that features full support for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). The title allows players to join friends online and explore wrecks and other scenery. The developer hopes to leave the Early Access version behind and launch the full videogame early in 2015 on PC, Mac and Linux. VRFocus will continue to follow World of Diving‘s progress, reporting back with any further updates.
