Not all virtual reality (VR) racing experiences have to put you in the driver’s seat. The recent reveal of Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) support for Codemasters’ Toybox Turbos has proved that much. This week sees the launch of another new third-person driving VR title simply named Motorbike from indie developer baKno Games. Currently free to download on PC and Mac, the experience features full support for the Oculus Rift.Motorbike appears to be similar to the popular Trials series in that players navigate a series of physics-defying courses, trying to reach the end. baKno Games’ title stands out however with its VR support and the inclusion of a course editor and sharing tools. The means that anyone can upload tracks online for others to add to Motorbike‘s already-impressive 100-strong list of courses. Players are also able to select from a range of different riders and bikes.
The title can be downloaded over on Oculus VR’s official Share Beta. It’s not clear if a Linux version is planned, or if the developer will be adding any further features to the experience in the near future. VRFocus will continue to follow any and all applications of VR, reporting back with all of the latest updates.
