The Black Glove to Support Oculus Rift & Project Morpheus

Day For Night Games have announced their intentions to support virtual reality (VR) devices on both PC and PlayStation 4 with their forthcoming The Black Glove. Currently undergoing a crowd-funding campaign on Kickstarter, The Black Glove has been confirmed for both Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus head-mounted displays (HMDs) should it get funded.

“Day For Night Games just announced that we intend to add VR support for The Black Glove for both the Oculus Rift and PS4 Morpheus as part of our initial Kickstarter ask, if the project is funded,” stated an official mail-out to interested parties. “It’s exciting news since we’ve always felt gamers would really enjoy using VR to explore the game’s immersive, story-rich environments, made by artists who had a hand in creating the BioShock series’ Rapture and Columbia.”

Originally, Day For Night Games responded to a request for VR support on their campaign page by suggesting that it could be offered as a stretch goal. No however, as the campaign is reaching it’s completion, the team has committed to developing for VR devices as standard.

“VR is an enormously exciting prospect for a game like The Black Glove,” reads the team’s response on Kickstarter. “The idea of exploring immersive environments made by artists who had a hand in creating BioShock Infinite’s Columbia and BioShock’s Rapture with VR seems very intriguing.”

The Black Glove currently sits quite some distance from it’s funding goal, having raised only $151,008 USD of it’s $550,000 target at the time of publishing.
