ImmersiON-VRelia Expands Ahead of Launch of The Go

Earlier this month VRFocus reported on the reveal of release details for upcoming smartphone-based virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) The GO from the newly merged company, ImmersiON-VRelia. Those that have pre-ordered the device should expect to see it delivered in December 2014. Don’t think that its launch will be the last you hear from the company either, as ImmersiON-VRelia has this week announced an expansion both at home and abroad.


Firstly the company has secured larger offices at its headquarters in Redwood City, California. At the same title, new European offices have been opened in Murcia, Spain. Those that remember when ImmersiON and VRelia were separate companies will recall that the latter is a Spanish start up.

“ImmersiON-VRelia’s mission is to drive human evolution through immersive education and experiences,” ImmersiON-VRelia CEO Manuel Gutierrez-Novelo said of the company’s expansion. “We are facing an increasing demand for our products. With a larger presence in the U.S. and new offices in Europe, we are one step closer to the mass adoption of virtual and augmented reality.”

The GO allows users to strap a smartphone against a pair of lenses and then view VR content similar to the likes of other HMDs such as the Durovis Dive and Samsung’s Gear VR. ImmersiON-VRelia has secured a partnership with online retailer TigerDirect for exclusive distribution rights in the US. Eager fans were able to purchase the first units at the TigerDirect Tech Bash in Miami earlier in the month. It can currently be pre-ordered for $89 USD.
