Little Arrow’s I Man Ogre VR Music Video Launches

Virtual reality (VR) technology has already been used from some interesting musical experiments and projects. Artists such as Beck and Coldplay have offered 360 degree videos of live experiences as has Sir Paul McCartney, while developers such as Harmonix are creating unique music-based VR titles. This week sees the launch of a new 360 degree music video, featuring the song I Man Ogre as performed by Welsh band Little Arrow.

The video for I Man Ogre, featured on the album Wild Wishes, sees members of Little Arrow dressed up as classic horror figures.  “I Man Ogre takes you on a chilling and unique 360º audiovisual experience,” the video’s description reads, “featuring those ghoulish spectres from Little Arrow. Set in a gothic and nightmarish environment, don’t turn your head for too long, or you won’t see what’s creeping up behind you.” The project is the result of a collaboration between Little Arrow, Bubblewrap Collective, On-Par Productions, 4? Productions & Stephen Gray.

I Man Ogre is compatible with both the first and second development kit (DK1 and DK2) versions of the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). Those interested can now download it from the official Oculus VR Share Beta on PC, Mac and Linux. VRFocus will continue to follow any and all applications of the Oculus Rift, reporting back with all of the latest updates on them.
