New Kôna Preview Provides Fresh Gameplay and Details

It’s now been over three months since indie developer Parabole passed its Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign for upcoming virtual reality (VR) compatible adventure title, Kôna. In that time the developer has provided a few updates, including strong hints that the videogame will arrive on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well as PC. More recently the team has provided a new preview of the title that provides a fresh look at gameplay and some new features. That preview can now be seen below.

The eight minute clip sees the developer walk viewers through the same environment first seen in the demo for Kôna, albeit with some new features such as a user interface (UI) that is at least partially integrated with the world. Objects, for example, are now labelled in the game world itself rather than simply typed out on the screen. There’s also a look at the journal, in which protagonist Carl Faubert will record any updates in his ongoing investigation into the disappearance of the local population of an area of Northern Quebec.

Kôna is set to be delivered across three episodes, each of which featuring support for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). Support for the Project Morpheus for the PlayStation 4 version is also possible, should it actually come to fruition. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s progress, reporting back with any further updates.
