Glowstick Games’ Dark Deception garnered a great deal of attention last year as it made waves amongst the virtual reality (VR) community. Following it’s announcement and an unsuccessful Kickstarter campaign, the studio teased a PlayStation 4 release. That console edition has now been confirmed, and it will also support the forthcoming PlayStation 4 VR head-mounted display (HMD), Project Morpheus.
Dark Deception casts the player as a cop on the run. The gameplay is suggested to be ‘pretty simple’ by the developers: you must collect all soul shards before the monsters kill you. Collecting all the shards will reveal a puzzle piece, and grabbing that will complete the level. Dark Deception has openly been compared to the likes of Pac-Man by Glowstick Games, though obviously with a VR twist.
“Dark Deception is closing in on a final release date and we are working very hard to deliver a quality game,” stated Vince Livings, CEO of Glowstick Games. “The game visuals and gameplay mechanics are much improved from the pre-alpha build that was released online back in March.”
Dark Deception has already been confirmed for PC with Oculus Rift compatibility and now PlayStation 4 and Project Morpheus also. Furthermore, Glowstick Games are now developing Dark Deception on PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 3 and Wii U. The team plan on re-launching their Kickstarter campaign for Dark Deception soon and VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details.
It doesn’t sound like they need the money from kickstarter with that many platforms confirmed.
I will totally buy this for the Wii U!
