Crytek, Google Cardboard and More Exhibiting at VRLA Spring Expo

Earlier in the month VRFocus reported on the announcement of the Virtual Reality Los Angeles (VRLA) Spring Expo, the first of four seasonal community meet ups for enthusiasts, developers and more to attend. The show will take place on 22nd March at the Marriott Hotel in LA. A number of exhibitors were announced for the expo including the likes of cinematic VR company Jaunt. Now the organisers have announced a new batch of exhibitors for the event, including the likes of Crysis developer Crytek and Google.

Crytek recently confirmed that it would be heading to next week’s Game Developers Conference (GDC) with a new demonstration of VR technology running on its CryEngine 3 development toolset. It’s likely, then, that the company will be bringing this demo to showcase at VRLA too. As for Google, the company will again be showcasing its popular Cardboard smartphone-based head-mounted display (HMD) concept. The DIY device has caught the attention of developers, advertisers and more since its reveal last year and Google has improved upon the concept since then.

Other new exhibitors include the likes of VR developer Otherworld Interactive and Wemo. The list of exhibitors now totals 25, also including AltSpaceVR, Razer, Phase Space, xRez Studio, Xsens, VisiSonics, Reel FX, VRideo, Eclipse, Side Kick, Kite & Lighting, SVVR, Theta, Darknet, Rocket Sail, Project Jump Scare, Virtual Desktop, Start With V, Fish Bowl VR and Innervision. Tickets for the event are available from the official website. The company has had reports of issues with purchasing tickets, in which case it recommends doing so via a smartphone on 3G/LTE.

VRFocus will continue to follow VRLA, reporting back with any further updates from the event as it nears.
