Loading Human Dev Heading to GDC with New Demo

Untold Games, the indie videogame developer behind upcoming virtual reality (VR) adventure title Loading Human, was last seen at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show in January. There the developer was showcasing a small title that it had built using the newly-announced Open-Source Virtual Reality (OSVR) system. However the studio will be returning attention to Loading Human itself at the 2015 Game Developers Conference when it takes place in San Francisco, California, USA next month.

The developer has confirmed that it will be heading to the event from 4th – 6th March to showcase a new demo running on Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4. There it will showcase its Untold Natural Interaction and Communication System (UNICS), a concept the developer created in order to provide natural interaction with VR compatible videogames. Loading Human prides itself on its realistic interactions with everyday objects, allowing players to use motion controllers such as the Sixense STEM System to hold items in their hands.

“We are empowering U:N:I:C:S everyday with new features that will allow you to interact in a very natural way with the VR environment,” the developer wrote in a Kickstarter update. “We are aiming to create a industry standard interface, and hopefully you’ll love what we came up with: What we want is a VR experience that features both a linear plot (Solid cinematic storytelling) a circular gameplay (the one you can find in free roaming games) and a solid (but invisible) interface that creates coherence throughout the entire experience.”

Untold Games is currently preparing the first chapter in its Loading Human series. The title is coming to PC and Mac with full support for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). The developer also hopes to release a PlayStation 4 version of the title with full support for the Project Morpheus HMD. VRFocus will continue to follow Untold Games, reporting back with any further updates from the developer.
