Strafe, Reflections and More Heading to The Mix Next Week

Virtual reality (VR) videogames are going to be out in full force next week as the 2015 Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco, California, USA gets underway from 2nd – 6th March. With so much VR-related news set to take place next week it’s going to be a challenge for some of these experiences to stand out. Thus, a handful of VR titles will be on display at the Media Indie Exchange (The MIX) event that takes place at IGN’s offices on 2nd March at 19:00 PST alongside a wide range of other indie titles.

Broken Window Studios, for example, will be bringing its newly-announced VR title, Reflections, to the event. The developer should also be showing its other VR horror experience, Grave. Elsewhere the team behind STRAFE, the VR first-person shooter (FPS) that recently passed a Kickstarter campaign, will be bringing the gory videogame to the show. Promising co-op title Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes will also feature as will surreal golfing videogame Vertiginous Golf. Each of these titles is compatible with the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD).

Of course, GDC isn’t just about VR videogames. Hardware is also set to receive a big focus at the show, with Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) providing an update on its Project Morpheus HMD for PlayStation 4 while Valve will lift the lid on its SteamVR hardware. Nvidia is also expected to announce its own HMD, possibly named Titan VR, while Oculus VR will be bringing the ‘latest prototypes’ of both the Oculus Rift and its Gear VR smartphone-based HMD. In other words, VR fans have plenty to look forward to over the next seven days.

VRFocus will be at GDC this year to bring you all of the latest updates from each and every VR HMD, videogame and more.
