Previously VRFocus reported on title Dungeons of Aledorn receiving virtual reality (VR) compatibility. Currently the videogame is hosting a Kickstarter campaign to fund the project. Now new screenshots have been unveiled detailing in game locations as well as gameplay. It is due to be compatible with the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD).
The title is a nostalgic look at old dungeon crawler videogames with a realistic damage system. It prides itself in its strategic based combat. The developers state that users will have to overcome situations differently and that adaptability is the key to survival. It uses a turn based combat system in which users will have to scale how powerful an enemy is and how it can be beaten.
In the screenshots is the grid type turn-based system used in combat. Users will be able to take advantageous positions on the grid. Certain attacks appear to be available at range, while others have to be closer in order to attack the enemies. Also shown in the images is an idea of what enemies will feature in the final release. Shown are skeletons as well as pirates. Key locations are also shown including small villages, a port and even mountainous areas. It seems like these locations will have NPC’s the player can interact with as well as varied enemy resistance.
VRFocus will keep you updated as this title’s progresses.
