Ether One Gets New PlayStation 4 Trailer, Retail Release Confirmed

Back at Gamescom 2014 UK-based indie developer White Paper Games was finally able to confirm that it was bringing its popular first-person adventure title, Ether One, to PlayStation 4. The studio has provided a few updates on the videogame since that time, bringing it to events such as EGX London and keeping a regular blog going. Today sees the team release a brand new trailer for Ether One along with the announcement that the title will see a release in retail stores.

The brief new trailer, released for this week’s Game Developers Conference (GDC), showcases a handful of gameplay clips from Ether One. The title’s surreal world, which is set inside the mind of a mentally handicapped patient, can be seen changing all around the player, reconstructing ruined buildings and more. The end of the trailer notes that the title will see both a digital and retail release on PlayStation 4.

This updated version of Ether One supports Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4, and will also be arriving on PC. There the title already features support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD), which the developer is aiming to improve in the new version. It’s not yet confirmed if support for the Project Morpheus HMD will be included in the PlayStation 4 version of the title.

A release date for the title is also yet to be announced. VRFocus will continue to follow Ether One‘s progress, reporting back with any further updates on the project.
