New Elite: Dangerous Video Explains Wings Update

This week marks the release of a brand new update to popular virtual reality (VR) compatible space simulation title, Elite: Dangerous. The release, titled ‘Wings’, serves as the second major upgrade for the PC experience since it launched back in December 2014. Recently creator Frontier Developments released a new video that takes a look at some of the major co-op elements that have been added in this latest update. Said video can now be seen below.

The six-minute clip sees Frontier Developments take viewers through the basics of forming teams with other pilots via the new Wings additions. This includes a brief rundown of new menus, linking up with specific pilots and alerting other players to their position. All of this is presented in-game with a detailed explanation of what to do.

Elite: Dangerous allows players to pilot their own craft and visit an enormous amount of space stations. The title features full support for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) on PC. Frontier Developments recently confirmed that its videogame would also be coming to Microsoft’s Xbox One, while a PlayStation 4 version will likely happen later down the line.

VRFocus will continue to follow Elite: Dangerous, reporting back with any further updates on the title.
