Roto Talks Seated VR, Kickstarter Campaign and More

Last week VRFocus got to sample a unique form of virtual realiy (VR) input known as Roto. The kit, which is currently running a Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign hoping to raise £85,000 GBP, allows players to turn their own swivel chairs into a rotating platform for VR experiences. VRFocus found promise in the device when played with The Creative Assembly’s Alien: Isolation. Below, founder Elliot Myers speaks about the kit and its campaign.

Speaking to VRFocus at last week’s EGX Rezzed in London, UK, Myers provided an explanation of just what Roto is and how it aims to create even more immersive VR experiences on head-mounted displays (HMD) such as the Oculus Rift, Gear VR and Google Cardboard.

VRFocus will continue to follow Roto, reporting back with any further updates on the kit.

  1. I hope that they can add some type of attachment so that you can use rudder pedals for flight sims instead of using the swivel for the feet. THAT would be a selling point for me.
