Seven New VR Videogames Confirmed for EGX Rezzed

Next weekend sees the EGX Rezzed event take place in London, UK. There have already been a handful of virtual reality (VR) compatible projects confirmed for the indie videogame-focused show, including the likes of Radial-G and even Valve with the HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD). Today however the organisers have revealed that a total of seven more VR-compatible titles are heading to the event. Attendees will be able to try these titles for themselves on the show floor from 12th – 14th March 2015.

Appearing on the show floor are Sublevel ZeroCrystal Rift and Monstrum.  Sublevel Zero was recently  announced as a unique six-degree-of-freedom, rougelike shooter coming to the Oculus Rift HMD. Crystal Rift is developed by Jon Hibbins in partnership with Echo Red creator Nick Pittom. Using the Oculus Rift, players move one step at a time on a square-based grid through dungeons, solving puzzles and defeating enemies as they go. The title was also recently confirmed for Gear VR. Monstrum, on the other hand, is a first-person horror title in which players attempt to escape a procedurally-generated ship as they are pursued by a monster. A non-VR version of the videogame is currently available through Steam Early Access.

A number of VR compatible videogames will also be appearing at the BAFTA Inside Games Arcade during the event. These include Coatsink Software’s Gear VR puzzler, Esper and Smash Hit Plunder, the first-person from Triangular Pixels that recently received its first trailer. Elsewhere, Slightly Mad Studios will display Project CARS at the stand and the recently-released Pneuma: Breath of Life will also be on show. It’s not been confirmed if these last two titles will be demoing in VR or using standard displays.

EGX Rezzed looks to be a worthwhile event for anyone wanting to sample some of the latest VR experiences, then. VRFocus will be at the event to gather hands-on impressions and interviews with developers.
