Atom Universe Releases Golf Concept Art

With its Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign now past its initial goal and demos either available or readying for release, theme park-based videogame Atom Universe is gaining interest. As those that have followed the virtual reality (VR) supported project thus far will know, the initial release of the title on PC plans to include three rides: a Minikart Race, Shooting Gallery and Motor Stunts. But developer Atom Republic will be adding more attractions to the title over time. This week sees the studio share its first look at one of these.

Atom Republic has released the first concept image of a Crazy Mini-Golf attraction, which can be seen below. “As you can see we plan on implementing gravity-defying courses featuring bumps, ramps, corkscrew, spirals, helix-shaped tracks… and even wormhole portals, teleporting the ball to the next section of the course!” the developer explained in a the Kickstarter update showcasing the image. “You will need to practice your skills, dexterity, and a little bit of puzzle logic to master this challenging and addictive minigame!”

The Mini-Golf attraction will be made available in an update, though a timeframe for its arrival has not been given. As with the other attractions in Atom Universe, players will gain access to the activity by spending Atomz, which serve has in-game currency for the free-to-play title.

With four days left of its Kickstarter campaign, Atom Universe hopes to pass a £30,000 GBP stretch goal. Should it achieve this then the developer will work towards releasing both the PC and PlayStation 4 versions of the title at the same time later this year. The PC version is expected to support the Oculus Rift head-mounted disaply (HMD) while the PlayStation 4 version should integrate the Project Morpheus HMD later down the line.
