DEEP Dev Talks Using VR to Help Control Anxiety and More

Easily one of the most fascinating uses of virtual reality (VR) right now lies within health and using VR as a tool to improve wellbeing. Plenty of developers are providing players with simple, picturesque locations to relax in with VR, but DEEP from Owen Harris wants to go one step further or, in this case, deeper. This is a unique VR videogame in which players explore a beautiful underwater environment, with movement controlled by their breathing. VRFocus recently spoke to the developer about the project.

In the interview below Harris talks about how players must use diaphragmatic breathing in order to progress through DEEP‘s fantasy world. He also touches upon the title’s unique art style and what VR, in this case delivered with the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD), brings to the experience. DEEP is yet to see a release date.

VRFocus will continue to follow DEEP closely, reporting back with any further updates on the project.
