Avid fans of Samsung’s smartphone-based virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD), Gear VR, were treated to a taste of one of the platform’s most anticipated upcoming videogames last week. Indie developer Triangular Pixels launched a demo for its first-person frenzy, Smash Hit Plunder. The title delivers frantic VR action as players hurl objects across rooms, seeking the loot that appears from the wreckage. VRFocus recently spoke to the developer about its project.
In the interview below Triangular Pixels’ Katie Goode discusses all aspects of Smash Hit Plunder from its beginnings disguised as an Oculus Rift title to its sharp art style and innovative use of the Gear VR’s touchpad. There’s also mention of if the title might appear on other HMDs and just when a full release might occur on Gear VR.
Smash Hit Plunder‘s demo can currently be downloaded from the Oculus VR Store. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s progress, reporting back with any further updates on it.
