This week sees the launch of a new Steam Greenlight campaign for a virtual reality (VR) compatible videogame named Cosmic Highway. Indie developer Interstellar Game Studios is hoping to secure enough positive votes through the service in order to be approved for sale come launch in summer 2015. If successful then Cosmic Highway will launch with full support for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) along with other devices.
Cosmic Highway casts players as a pilot that is searching for a new home for humanity. Players steer a ship through treacherous terrain, avoiding obstacles and hostile aliens. A number of pilots and ships can be selected, each boasting unique special abilities such as the use of lasers, torpedoes and even slow motion effects. The title was first published on mobile platforms but makes its way to PC with VR support.
VRFocus will continue to follow any and all VR compatible videogames, reporting back with the latest updates on them.
