Mini-Museum of Natural History Exhibits Coming To Oculus, HTC Vive

We at VRFocus have been intently following the fortunes of those who have been competiting in the Oculus Mobile VR Jam. Now with the competition to greate applications and games for the Samsung Gear VR smartphone-based head-mounted display (HMD) is nearly at its end it is perhaps not surprising that some of those competitors are now looking beyond the competition to the future of their creations.

One such developer is British creator Rob Eastham whose Gear VR app, The Curator’s Mini-Museum of Natural History is one of the competitions finalists. A video for which you can see below.

Speaking on a virtual reality (VR) Facebook group, Eastham confirmed his intentions to spin-off exhibits from the Museum to other HMDs. Specifcally for the Oculus Rift Developer Kit 2 (DK2) and ‘eventually’ for the Valve backed HTC Vive. As for improvements Eastham said to expect a “Much higher poly count and better UE4 (Unreal Engine 4) lighting.”

With the Game Jam promoting creativity and idea generation it will be interesting to see what follows, as the initial concepts are either left behind or are refined and developed further. VRFocus will continue to follow the work of the Oculus Mobile VR Jam contestants and bwill be bringing you all the future development updates on Radial-G as they are revealed.
