VRTGO Returns to UK in November

A number of virtual reality (VR) events took place in 2014. Among them was VRTGO, a UK-based conference that was held last September in Gateshead, Newcastle. The one-day event saw a number of high-profile members of the VR community give talks about the technology, including the likes of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s (SCEE’s) Jed Ashforth, The Assembly developer nDreams and even CCP Games, the team behind EVE: Valkyrie. The event went down as a success and is set to return later on in 2015.

VTRGO 2015 will take place at the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art a little later on in the year on 12th November. Speakers and attendees are yet to be confirmed although early bird tickets are now on sale via an Eventbrite page for £139 GBP. The event promises to again give voice to VR experts, talking about the future of the technology. Attendees can expect talks on all areas of VR, moving beyond just videogames and looking at training, marketing and more. The all-day show will also be concluded with an after party.

While VRTGO takes place a few months later than its date last year, it’s important to note that this will bring the conference closer to the launch of consumer head-mounted displays (HMDs), likely allowing speakers a great deal of transparent in their topics. Fans should be well aware of a full release date for Valve and HTC’s Vive HMD by that time, if it hasn’t already released, and will be mere months away from the launch of the consumer Oculus Rift in Q1 2016. SCE’s Project Morpheus HMD will also be launching in the first half of 2016.

VRFocus will continue to follow any and all VR related events, reporting back with the latest on them.
