Studio Wildcard has today launched ARK: Survival Evolved on Steam Early Access. Merely 3 weeks after announcement of the videogame, the studio today offers the first playable build of ARK: Survival Evolved, an extreme survival experience, to PC gamers via the Steam platform.
ARK: Survival Evolved casts the players as a human stranded naked, freezing and starving on a mysterious island. You must hunt, harvest, craft items, grow crops and build shelters to survive, all while fighting for your life against prehistoric beasts. Powered by Unreal Engine 4, ARK: Survival Evolved takes on the survival genre with a blend of emergent multiplayer co-operation and competition.
As part of the Steam Early Access process, Studio Wildcard will be continually developing the virtual reality (VR) component of ARK: Survival Evolved. The Steam Early Access page for the videogame explicitly states that one of the planned updates is: “Better VR support (i.e. HMD gun-aim option).”
Available via Steam Early Access now at a discounted price of £19.08 GBP, ARK: Survival Evolved will launch in 2016 on PlayStation 4 with Project Morpheus support, Xbox One via the ID@Xbox program, and Steam, including Oculus Rift compatibility. VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details on ARK: Survival Evolved.
