Underwater VR Adventure Neptune Flux Launches Kickstarter and Greenlight

Last week VRFocus reported on the news that Zoxide Games would be launching a new Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign for an upcoming virtual reality (VR) videogame by the name of Neptune Flux. That campaign has now launched and is looking for some $8,000 USD in order to bring the videogame to PC and Mac with full support for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). A Steam Greenlight campaign for the title has also launched, looking to raise enough positive votes to approve it for sale on Valve’s digital store come full launch.

Set in the near future, Neptune Flux is a story-driven exploration title that casts players as Sarah, an employee of a corporation known as A.Q.U.A.. Players will be taken on deep sea missions as part of an effort to colonize humans for life underwater, as Earth itself is now a dusty wasteland. As players explore the depths they will find supernatural wrecks, lost artefacts and treasures and more. After some time, Sarah’s objectives become increasingly unusual as she heads towards the ocean floor.

Those interested in Neptune Flux can currently pledge $9 to secure a digital copy of the title for its release in November 2016. This is a special, early bird tier that’s limited to the first 100 backers, with the price increasing to $12 after that. Backer rewards continue all the way up to $2,499 where three fans can have their names credited as executive producers, talk to the developers and design some of the objects and environments that will appear in the final title. It’s not yet clear if the campaign holds any possible stretch goals.

Neptune Flux‘s crowd-funding effort is due to come to a close on 1st July 2015. VRFocus will continue to follow the title closely, reporting back with any further updates on its progress.
